Sway Bar Link- Kit Question

I am currently restoring a 1985 Iroc-Z. The front sway bar end link bushings are falling apart and eroding. They are red in color and appear to be made of a hard plastic. I went to O'reilys and purchased new link kits. The replacement bushings are blue in color and seem to be made of this hard plastic like the originals. What is this material and should I use it or go to something like polygraphite? I am not familiar with this type of bushing and am curious what it is. Thanks, Badman

you could have purchased poly endlinks if you wanted slightly less deflection, they are a little more money as well.

Some cars, my 85 IROC for example, came equipped with poly.

Blue, or red, and plastic like eh?

Mine had yellow plastic-like bushings on it, probably from the previous owner. I'm guessing thats aged polyurethane.

A stock replacement one should have been rubber, and black, i'd think.

Polyurethane, as my replacements were, wasn't as hard and plasticky as what I removed from the car. It was a bit softer, but still much stiffer than the stock rubber. Polygraphite is pretty much the same as polyurethane, but is said to be self lubricating.

xpdndble - I like that new view of your car, looks very cool. I always loved the '84 Z-28 the most.
