Ball joint problem

Axle/Gears: 3.23 Posi.. 4 wheel disc both cars
Ball joint problem

What will be the symptoms of having a bad lower ball joint????I was told my lower drivers side ball joint is bad...This was after 4 front end alingments this week...At first they could find no problems...Thanks, Tom...

generally if you jack up the car and push/pull on the wheel evenly, as not to move the steering, there should be some slop

Well the car seems to wander, not real bad, but it is annoying the hell out of me.......guess, I will have to takle new ball joints, any advise on the easiest way to do this??? Any other reasons a car might wander????????Thanks, Tom

When mine went bad and i turned my wheel all the way to either side it would feel like the wheel way cocked really crooked and the tire sounded horrible going over the ground.

Basically sounded like i had VERY loose lugnuts or something.

well my car tends to wander a bit but that more caused by the tirespin

for advice on replacing ball joints, I quote myself from another thread..

you never mentioned having a ball joint press, which is necessary to get the ball joints in (duh). Make sure you've got a nice, sizable cheater bar to torque down the press.. I used a leg of an engine stand. In terms of getting the old ones out, you can use the press, or a bfh.. personally, I've found beating them out to be more time efficient as well as satisfying.

Well replaceed mine with Moog's today, and it made a world of difference...Now for ALL the Poly bushing's, and she oughtta handle much better...Thanks to all for the replys....Tom
