580/140 Spring rate questions
Ok, so its time for new springs.
I don't want stock ride height, but I don't want a harsh lowered ride (by harsh I mean 700+lb/in).
I did some research, I think I found a way to get about an inch lower in the front, and at only 580 lb/ft, with the Moog 5658 springs.
Here is the page I got my info from.
The PROBLEM. To get similar drop in the rear (about .75"), the only springs listed on that page that may work is the Moog 6377, with a 140 lb/in spring rate. That seems like a lot.
I need to know from all of you suspension gurus what to expect from a spring rate of 580 front and 140 rear.

The problem with going with a softer than stock spring and going lower is you'll be way more likely to bounce off the bump stop. Stock Iroc springs ar aorund 600 lb/in if I'm not mistaken. Just going lower without going stiffer would be a bad move in my book, going lower and softer is bound to have you smacking the bump stop all the time.
Believe it or not a car with stiffer springs will ride better than one that has soft springs and hits the bump stops.

I here you about the bump stop issue. I'm going to give it a try anyways and if its an issue I'll move up in spring rate.
I was a little unclear. My main question is 140 lb/in too much spring rate for the rear?
