yeah, lots of people have done this. Spacers are needed. I'm running 2" spacers over ls1 front and rear brakes with 17x9s.

Thanks, once you get some wheels, you should post up some pics in the appearance section. Always love to see another new bird around!

but as far as affecting anything, I think they are great. I had 16's before, and these feel like twice the handling power. Rides about the same.

hey for wheels and tires, thats not a bad deal. Are they the 5 spokes or the 3 spoke curvy looking ones?

Here are some pictures of my 4th gen wheels. I just installed a complete 4th gen rear suspension and 2" wheel spacers in the fronts. Theyre kinda dark but I think theyll do. Oh yeah, dont laugh at my dirty wheels, they sat for 3 months.

thats more or less what I was wondering. I was just curious how far they stuck out compared to a 3rd gen rear with 2 inch spacers.

I think they look fine. It doesnt look like they stick out a whole lot. Maybe a little more in the front

while some people use the term interchangeably, technically, you need adapters.

spacers slip on.

adapters bolt on.

but you'll find commonly people interchange the terms anyway.. just like some people call a flexplate a flywheel.
