Stock/tubular Arm difference.

My A arms are off right now cause of my spring swap and am getting some Tubular A arms but am wondering if anybody noticed a big difference when going from stock to tubular? I thought about just doing poly bushings in the stockers but am on the fence at the moment.

In all honesty if your keeping springs, I would do new joints and ES bushings and maybe por 15 the arms. Thats what I did. I've heard too many people with breakage and squeeking. For me I am going with K member and stock arms.

i ran a tubular kmember and kept the stock a-arms with poly bushings and new balljoints, didn't even bother painting them either. They don't weigh enough to be worth the cost for tubular when you're keeping normal springs instead of coilovers

I've never seen a stock K-member or a-arm crack on a thirdgen.

U know what has my vote :-)

my stock K-member is cracked (one of the reasons I have a Spohn one sitting in the living room next to the christmas tree)it started from under the engine cradel and now goes almost completly around the K-member, there's only about 2"-3" of meatel keeping it from splitting in 2, I think it's from jacking it up by the K-member one to many times

So other than weight loss or going to a coilover setup there really isn't a gain? I think I'm just going to clean up and install new ball joints and poly bushings in the stockers and save some $$$.

Nopers. I am going with a K member only cause I am running LT's and I want clearance but for the arms. Stock all the way for me.

87TPI:- If you're keeping the stockers and can weld (or know someone who can), box the stock A-arms. And then paint them and install new poly bushings.

Did you box your stock A-arms? If so I would be interested to see a picture of where you braced them.

Thanks!!

I haven't did it yet myself, Comp788, but would probably do a little more than in Deans photos provided by Sonix.

I can't see it doing any harm, and could well make things a little better and stiffer.
