Bad Vibration after 70mph

I get a really bad vibration after going 70 mph in my 91 305 rs. like around 70 to 80 it goes in and out. the whole dash shakes when it gets bad. then after 80 up to 100 its constent vibration. Does anyone know what this could be. I was think maybe i should replace the front wheel barings idk. thanks

Try wheel balancing? Even with balancing, you could have a slightly bent rim that balancing won't take out. Next time you get tires, have the rims balanced with no tire on them - some shops can check rim roundness when there's no tire on - they have guides that attach to the balancer that will show out of round and inconsistencies.

But it won't hurt to do new bearings - and since the rotors have to come off, might as well get new ones.

I just installed new bearings the ones in there didn't seem bad but did it anyways. there was some play on the passenger side wheel so that was a big part of the vibration. but tonight i drove and after 80 still gets a synchronized vibration. my tires look bad in the front. I think next step for me would be to get new tires and balanced.

if the tires dont fix it take the driveshaft >>>Unbolt it from the rear... rotate it exactly 180***DIFF END U_JOINT NOT THE SPLINED END TRANS**...and reinstall it in the diff... Usually if the driveshaft is out 180 your will get a vibration starting at 70 and getting worse the faster you go..also check the u-joints while your doing that as well..

My car does the same thing. I replaced everything you can think of and it still does it. If i jack the car up with the rear tires off the car and run the car at 65-75 it does it just like im on the road. Therefore its a drivetrain problem. Changed driveshafts, new u-joints, 3 different trannys??? The only thing im thinking is the rearend, or the rearend yoke is bent but i dont see the driveshaft whipping out of balance. But is there anything inside that will make it vibrate?

Thanks,

My car is doing this aswell. It did it when I first got it, and put new tires worked fine, did it some more, so I had them balanced, worked fine, now does it again. Autoshop says I need new idler, pitman, and center link (which they wanted to charge me $750! f*ck that!!) So today I got my idler arm and center link. I will install these and report the findings, but I won't get to installing until next week on my days off...It has been a year now since I got it, so it would work great for a couple of months before things started to wear...
