Moog Spring Replacement Guys
I've attempted to discover as much as possible about stock spring rates but found nothing that seemed definitive. The car is a simple daily driver, which will never see the track in any form. So the question: Are the Moog 5662 fronts (748) and 5665 rears (107), along with Koni Reds or Bilstiens HDs, going to beat me to death or will I be a happy boy?

Well, those are the springs I used along with the Bilstien OEM style rear shock. As for the front struts I used the Koni adj. It is stiff but I also have poly bushings throughout the front and rear suspension. The ride is OK, but not like a stock IROC. I purchased a 86IROC with 30000+ miles on it and it rides smoother than my 85. My research indicated that those are the correct springs for the 85IROC and I feel the rear OEM bilstiens are good shocks. The front OEM struts are where I believe an upgrade is necessary. As for a daily driver, I say buy the replacement Bilstien or KYB strut. Then again, that's just my opinion. And you know what they say about that! Badman

I think the 5662's are 706 or so, but I know that's been a running debate...
I would think the Bilstein HD's would make it harsh on small bumps, where the tough shock damping has the most effect. hmm eh?
