255/70/r15 on stock rims?

Hey,

I know someone that is selling his 255/70/r15 tires to me for a good price. I was wondering if they would fit my 15x7 5 spoke 1992 RS wheels in the rear??

Thanks in advance!

They would fit the wheel, but a 255/70 is a truck size. They should be somewhere in the area of 3-4" taller than stock size.

so do u think they would fit without rubbing? They are BFG Radial T/A tires, ,. I have read some older posts and some people have had these tires on their cars, but has anyone recentley put these sized tires on their stock rims without too much effort?

thanks!!

Those tires are way to tall. Even if they fit without rubbing, they are not going to look right, not to mention mess up your speedometer and gearing. 235/60/15 is the best size for our cars with 15 x 7 rims, or 245/60/15 on the rear if you want a little more meat.

well i just need to replace my worn out 215/65r15's that I have. I'm not looking for anything too expensive because I am currently placing all my money on the drivetrain, I will buy drag radials later on though.

I bought some Yokohama AVID tires from summit and they work great especially in snow.
