big tires

i have bfg 325 50r15 drag radials on centerline wheels but they dont have the right backspacing. 3" back space and 10" wide. they stick out of the wheel wells anout 2.5" to 3" the bfgs are roughly 11.5 wide(section width) and 27 inches tall. do you think that i can get away with a 5.5 back space and an 8 inch wheel. or do you think i should run a 4.5 back space and a 10 inch wheel. I really dont want the tires sticking out like they do now.

I doubt if you get those 325's in there.
You also have your backspacing wrong...4.5"bs with the 8"rim...
5.5"bs with the 10

I read somewhere that if you cut off the bump stops and do a little beating you can make them fit. what backspace do you think i need in order to make them fit.

15x10 5.5bs

although with those size radials, you'll need to do work regardless, and they won't fit on a 8" rim, only a 10"

ok so 10" wheel 5.5 bs. will i have any issues other than the bump stops and some minor fender beating? do you know if you have seen any pics of where and how much i need to cut off and beat. Any possible pics of a 10 inch wheel with the 5.5 bs.

there's tons of pics on here, but they won't show what you need to beat/remove, also make sure that the rear end is centered in the chassis for the best fit. I sure hope this car is running super super fast, otherwise 275 drag radials will be fine and 325s will be too much tire and slow the car down. My buddies 10 second ls1 picked up .2 from the switch back to 275s and his 60' stayed the same essentially. The car MPH'd higher as well. You would also need to roll the fender lip and cut out the bump stop area, although with 28x10.50 slicks I still have my bumpstop.

I am not real sure how hard the car is going to run but i am hoping for low 11 sec times at 5000 plus feet in elevation. I am running a worked up 383 with aluminum heads and i am going to run a 200 hit on it. I bought these tires because they were similar in size according to the 28x11.50 hoosiers i have. I may end up burning these tires up and buying the smaller tire but it is what it is after you have al ready purchased the tires.
