Pinto rack problems
Hey everyone, okay, i have a PA k member w/ motor mounts and pinto rack mounts, a flaming river pinto rack, and the steering shaft kit from PA for a third gen. Well the problem is that the steering shaft is hitting the motor mounts and will not allow the steering shaft to go up far enough to mate with the stock column. I was wondering if anyone else has had the same problem and what they did. There seems to be a few different way to fix it, but the three best are,
ONE: Cut the left rack mount off and slide it over 1/4 inch and weld it back.
TWO: Run one more steering joint and put in a heim joint to keep the shaft stable.
THREE: Find a 4 inch or so steering shaft that is splined on both sides (one female the other male) and put it on the rack so that the shaft pass through the motor mount and shorten the steering shaft to make up the difference.
Let me know what yall think i will get some pics in a bit. thanks

Okay here are the pics, from the pic it looks like you could notch the motor stand out and the shaft will work, but as you can see in the second pic the steering joint will it the motor mount stand if the shaft moves up, well i think it will HELP ME PLEASE, also the steering joint is hitting the motor mount in that pic but there is clearance but just about maybe 1/8th to a 1/16th of an inch
