Looks pretty good man. How wide are your wheels? How is traction?

It would look better with stock 16 inch formula wheel or upgrade to 17's.

Re: Got my new tires today....

traction is great. little to no wheel spin at all and they hook great!! i need the wide tread pattern because i plan to auto-x the car and take it down the strip a few times here and there with the built single turbo 350 im currently working on. also the rims are ten inches wide. i have ten inches of tread hitting the ground in back and 9 in front.

and stock rims are just not my thing. they gotta be aftermarket!!

Re: Got my new tires today....

I doubt they will hook with a turbo'd 350. Plus you'd want less sidewall for autocross. The car will be all over the place with regular street tires.

Re: Got my new tires today....

You fit a 265 tire on the front? wow. I had problems with a 245/60 on my '83. had to go to a 235/60 and it doesn't rub

Re: Got my new tires today....

I love the style. But yea, very wide on the front, don't plan on doing any parallel parking or... turning in a tight circle.
Those deep dish wheels and fat tires are great. Are those Cobra tires pretty good as far as traction? They're more of a street tire right? Harder longer lasting compound?

yeah the front ones have been on a year or so but have never seen winter. the rears i havent really got to test yet. since the turbo 350 isnt done yet. and no never would i even attempt to turn in a tight circle and parallel park. i dont even do that in my civic lol. i do have an occasional rub in the front if i turn way to hard. but it hugs corners great. but i either need to mini-tub the rear, or find a better wheel that sets the tire in more. i rub on the rear if my approaching angle is to steep and sharp.

Re: Got my new tires today....

I have the cooper cobras with 245-60-r15 out back and 215-65-r15 in the front I believe. The rears are wearing great and I think they have great traction. The front holds great in turns, but they are wearing kinda quick. After about 3000 miles the outside grip on the front tires only has a 1/16 to an 1/8 left. Wearing kinda faster then expected, they are rated at 50000 miles. I think they must be a really soft rubber to be wearing that fast.

Re: Got my new tires today....

1 15" wheels and you can't turn tight? - you won't be doing much autocross
2 they're not gonna hook much power
3 you can't mini-tub these cars w/o "back-halfing" the car

It takes A LOT more than a turbo motor to go fast and handle well.
