Help Quick!! Installing new tie rods etc - nut just spinning.

Hi guys,

Might be making a silly mistake here but I'm not sure what I'm missing.

I'm installing new inner/outer tie rods and Spohns adjusters. When I go to tighten the nut it just spins the assembly. Is there a trick to hold them in position and stop them spinning whilst tightening the nuts?

Any quick replies would be much appreciated.

Thanks.

Never mind - got it sorted!

Ran the wire locking nut down and it seemed to work fine.

If anyone has this problem in the future I can only assume that the thread on the wirelock nut is tapered, and when putting on a different one as a dry-setup on the bench it was locking down on the thread and causing a higher torque on the ball joint than it can withstand.

On that note, make sure you get the wirelock on there properly since you cant really lock it down nice and hard, so get the torque wrench out.
