Installation 101 for Dummys on STB/strut brace bar...
Someone was kind enough to sell me a Hotchkis strut bar brace. I got all my suspension parts powdercoated the same blue color, but now am stumped about installation of that strut bar. I assumed it attatched to the bolts on the strut towers, figured out quickly that was a mistake, ran through old forum notes for two hours, looked at photo in our albums.
What exactly is the proper method to bolt these units onto our cars??
Do I need a certain grade of fastner with this project?
And as a side question: are there better/worse brands of replacement 'Wonderbars' for our Camaro's??? Mine's an 88 IROC that I'm setting up for backroad rally driving; some legal some not....
Sincerely open to suggestions.

Check picture and use grade '5" hardware. The steering box support (wonder bar) on your car will work just fine.

if it helps better then the pic, you need to center in up, side to side on the flat part of the strut towers ahead of the strut. keep it away enough that it does not get in the way of the adjustment of the strut mounts. mark and drill holes, and bolt it together. for the extra 5 cents might as well go with grade 8 fasteners, no sense using weaker parts and possible breaking one. and use a good sized washer on the underside of the strut mount and just beware of the triangular piece that is under the strut mount, dont drill a hole through it.

Just click on the thumbnail pic to enlarge it. After you click it though the picture is still pretty small.
Installing the STB is easy. You have to drill the holes to mount it. I would use some grade 8 hardware.
