Sick of the rake...wanna go lower then pro-kit
Other then weight jacks, what kinda springs will give me a good lowered stance and a nice spring rate. I like sportlines but i hear they have a softer spring rate...is that true? Anyone know exactly what the springs rates for pro-kit and sportlines?
Here are a few pictures of my car with pro-kit with the rear insulators removed...i hate the rake...whats strange is my friend has pro-kit with 17s and his rear does not sit as high as mine does. Im happy with the front i just cant stand how the rear looks...do you guys have any suggestions?

Re: Sick of the rake...wanna go lower then pro-kit
my car sits like that WITH the isolators in, but my fronts are lower by just alittle bit.
i'd love to remove my rear isolators to get rid of the rake, but the 4th gen rear would make my tires crush my fender lips
you could try taking just alittle bit of the coil off the spring to lower it some.
I have also heard the sportline rates arent really stiff
Another option is a custom coil spring.. i do believe there are companies that will make custom length and rate springs. you just give them the specs you want like dimensions (width I.D./O.D. and height) then spring rates. that will be the perfect stance dialed into your specs. I've only heard of ppl doing this and never looked for companies that do this

You could go with coilover conversion. http://www.spohn.net/product.cfm?productid=1533 I think that will give you up to 3 inches of drop----fully adjustable so you can put the rear where ya want

Re: Sick of the rake...wanna go lower then pro-kit
I'm in the process of getting away from the pro-kit myself, but im going to weight jacks. The rears are already in.
As far as off the shelf springs, the only ones Id consider are Guldstrands springs, but I'm not sure on ride height and I've heard speculation that they are only cut moog springs...which if you're up for some experimenting cutting stock springs can have great results as long as you don't get carried away.

Im up to it, but im just not comfertable with it without knowing really what kinda spring rates im messing with. Hopefully someone can post there springs and how much they cut with rideheight and handling differences.
Weight jacks on the rear? How did that work? Moved the spring perches? What are you using for the front?

try cutting small amounts of coil off the rears to see if they get you where you want. I'd start with 1/8th or 1/4 of a coil and keep using a tape measure until the car is even.

Re: Sick of the rake...wanna go lower then pro-kit
a small amount of coil shouldnt hurt much. Eibach prokit rears are progressive rate springs tho, i think they go from 110 all the way to a peak of 170 lbs. cutting a small mount willl raise that peak rating but it shouldnt be a big deal as you can get away with a stiffer rear spring. i hear lots of ppl running 200-250lb springs in the rear for roadrace/autocross.
