thinking about going air bags...

yeah, im thinking about switching to my ride to air bags. my car rides too rough and bottoms out too much and heard this is an option to smooth out the ride a little. is this true? i know this is what i get for having this car and lowering it with this suspension, but i want a smoother ride than what i have now. all you guys out there running air bags, what do you have? happy with them?

Re: thinking about going air bags...

too rough would be indicative of a stiff suspension and bottoming out would be a soft suspension, so which is it? Get rid of the lowering springs if you want a cadillac like ride. Air bags are nice, but while driving the car will be up in the air as high as stock so you don't bottom out on pothole filled roads. I've had friends whom I've installed air bags into their cars and trucks, and unless you really want to slam it to the ground at shows, I would get better adjustable shocks and possibly different springs and call it good.

i only bottom out on speed bumps and drive ways. i thought you could adjust the ride hieght at any time inside the car, so i can raise it in parking lots and then lower again on the streets. what are you guys running and are you happy with them?

you can adjust the ride height, but when you have it lower, there isn't much pressure in the bags so the car bounces a bit and can bottom out easily.
