I can think of a couple of different reasons to use them. I used mine for added tire clearance because I put bigger tires on the back.

Depending on how much lift you are looking for, you could use 4th gen rear spring rubber isolators. They will raise the rear end up about 1". I used them with Eibach springs all around to get a nice aggressive stance.

Well, with the tallest ones, how big of a tire could i fit in the rear(Standard street tire, not drag radial)??

you'd be limited to 29" or so with some fenderwell mods.
