can't find pitman arm
where can I buy a new pitman arm for my front end rebuild? It's not at rockauto or autozone...

Re: can't find pitman arm
Summit Racing has everything you need, MOOG parts, including rebuilding or replacement of front end steering parts. Have you checked with OReilly's? They too carry MOOG parts. As always, it might help if you take the (old) part you need with you if you go that route..
Good luck

It's a chunk of metal with 2 holes in it. That's IT. A joint that's part of the center link goes in one hole, and the other goes onto the steering gear. Nothing to fail or wear out.

Re: can't find pitman arm
Cool. I wasn't sure. I've had to have the pitman arm replaced several times on my Ford. That's one less thing to buy I guess. For those eibach springs I'm putting on: They will lower my car about an inch. How should I adjust my control arms on the front? Is there a kit or something I need to buy?
Re: can't find pitman arm
It may be a chunk of metal with two holes in it, but they do wear out.
I don't know what sofakingdom is thinking.
I will agree that they don't wear out to often, but they do.
I would however check your tie rods, ball joints, and drag link first.
If you do replace it get a pitman arm puller. They are more then woth the money. I have done to many without one, it sucks.

Never seen one wear out. Never even HEARD of one wearing out; although I suppose it might be possible if the center link joint became loose in the hole somehow. Can't see how, but that's what it would take.Other kinds of cars, that have a joint in it, yeah; not these cars.
The center link (drag link, whatever you want to call it) has the joint that wears.
Don't worry about your Pitman arm, it isn't worn out.

for once i agree with the guy above me
haha. Not something that wears out on these cars, now the idler arm is a wear item as well as the centerlink.
