how low before bottoming

I have a 1986 Camaro. It's a race car. Currently I have lowering springs and new NOS shocks. it handles like a go-cart. With the 225/45/15 slicks I'm running the car looks a little odd (see photo below). I am wondering how low can I go before having to modify shock shafts or mounts. I am currently 1.2 in lower than stock.

it is kinda funny looking....

You can go much lower than that. Are you lowering with springs, or cutting them?

Re: how low before bottoming

There are some vendors on here that sell raised strut mounts for a couple of hundred dollars that you could get. A better set of shocks would be a good idea too. You can lower it a bit more without any problems, why are you running such short tires though?

I'm using springs I was thinking about trimming them to take some more out of the height.

thanks for the tip on the strut mount. I autocross this car. I got a deal on the tires 3 sets for just $100.

Re: how low before bottoming

raising or lowering the strut mount will not affect ride height. If you lower the ride height, raised strut mounts will help you regain the lost strut travel.
