problem with P/S!

>I've done a ton of searches, but I haven't gotten a clear answer to my problem: Steering id fine when I'm motoring, but when I'm stopped and idling it's very hard to turn the wheel! There is a groan from the front ( can't tell if it's from the box or the pump )...When I give it some gas the steering loosens up again and I can turn the wheel easily.....I've noticed the box is leaking some from the pitman arm shaft...some, but not much...what needs fixing? the box? or the pump? Could it be the pressure relief valve in the pump?

Low flow rate from your power steering pump is the likely culprit. Less likely cause would be worn spool valve in the box. I'd start by replacing the pump.

OK....thanks....now, for the pump, do you think it's just something blocking the pressure relief valve?
