Re: Coil Springs going??
wouldn't hurt, sounds like thats the last thing back there unless the bushings back there on the LCA and panard are shot...just a couple thuoghts to kick around. Might be time for a complete overhaul.

Re: Coil Springs going??
likely? no. possible? anything is. Did the car sag on the driver side before you replaced the shocks? Anything look out of the ordinary while you were down there?

Re: Coil Springs going??
your cars frame is probably tweaked. Think about it, a limp noodle frame and even a decently torqy motor will create twist in the frame over years of abuse. I dont think ive seen too many level third gens. If they had installed SFCs from the factory I think this problem would have been avoided.
Believe me, stop wasting a bunch of money trying to lvl it out. Get a coil over kit or ground control kit (cheaper) and adjust the height to get it as close to lvl as you can for cosmetic purposes.

Re: Coil Springs going??
Uh no......... Replace the old worn out springs first with some $50 moogs. If it still doesn't sit level (more than a 1/2 inch difference side to side) take it to a body shop with a modern frame machine and have them check the car for straightness. If it's off, have them straighten it and weld in a set of perimeter mounted SFC's at the same time. Don't worry about the shocks, it should sit the same without them installed anyway.

Re: Coil Springs going??
Uh yes...I doubt he has the money to afford frame straightening as most ppl don't. However, if its simply for cosmetic purposes and you would like to have the car sit fairly lvl then adjusting the spring height is pretty much the only other way of doing it besides frame straightening. Its still possible that you just have a spring sagging so do what you want and check into that first if its not breaking your wallet. A motorcycle frame straightening is well over $500...

How much does frame straightening for a car cost? I was thinking about having that done to mine before I had my SFC's welded on.

Re: Coil Springs going??
you need to find a shop that will do an estimate...i hear some will do it for free. Ive read some say anywhere from $2000+. You want to have a very reputable shop doing it using the highest quality equipment possible so get ready to spend the dough.
Im in college right now and dont make enough money a year to afford it. Im pretty definate that my frame is tweaked as it has been hit twice that i know about. When i have a career and hopefully a $60,000 dollar a year salary god willing then I will pay the money to have it straightened and then once it is, I will still already have a ground control setup underneath the car and will have a full out race suspension under a properly lvled car.

Re: Coil Springs going??
well u guys were right about the strut i replaced it and no change , theres about 1/2 in diffrence between the psg and dvr side , also if this helps narrow it down the dvr side was sitting on a flat tire for many months , and the pssgr side was on a jack for about 3 months so the dvr side has been under some stress the frame seems to be intact i dont see any bends or out of the ordnary welds , so im guessing its the spring or a worn out lca bushing i didnt think a 305 made enough torque to cause a twist
if all else fails is there a way to lower the psgr side spring to compensate for the dvr side sag??

Re: Coil Springs going??
If it's just a half inch differance it's close enough. I'd still replace the worn out springs though, you'd be surprised at how weak the old ones feel in comparison.
Re: Coil Springs going??
With the car sitting like that for a while, I'd check for deformed bushings.
It's a good idea to at least have an estimate done on frame straightening. That way you know what you're working with.
