Will this STB fit?
Im pretty sure that I have seen stock 305 TPI engines with the Hotchkis LT1 STB but I just want to double check to see if it fits before shelling out that kind of money.
Hotchkis LT1 STB:

Or would somthing like this be just as good

Are there any others that would work with a 305 TPI that can be unbolted to take out if the need would arise? I mean like the Hotchkis one bolts to the strut tower but the the brace bolts to its mount, so the bar could come out if I ever do any engine work and need the room.
Also, would any extra bracing be needed below the STB mount. Just wondering because i know the strut mount has teh extra retainer thing to sandwich the sheet metal.

Here is that hotchkis bar for the 3rd gen... Hawks is the only place Ive found them. He is alittle cheaper than summit, but shipping will probably exceed the $9 handling fee at summit.

Im not sure if the 4th gen bars will fit. But Im going to guess it wont. The strut towers are different enough that Ide think youd be better off just getting a 3rd gen unit.
I like the hotchkis one the best. Im thinking about getting one, and modifying it to be a 3pt. Not sure yet.

Re: Will this STB fit?
I know this may sound a little like whinning but... I really want a black one, not a silver one.
Hawks only has two left that will work on a thirdgen so what is there to buy after those two are gone? Could we just buy the bar that is made for the 4th gen cars and then just fab our own mounts so it will fit our cars?

Crap...didnt even see that little note. Why not get them and just paint them black??
Im not convinced the 4th gen ones will work. They seem to be a good bit shorter. If you really want to make something, Ide start from scratch. Thats what I plan to do...Ide really like the hotchkis ones, but Im thinking I can build one just as nice for wayyyyy under 200 bucks. And have it be 3pt if i want.
