Front spring question...sorry

Alright, for starters i work at autozone and have access to all kinds of information about crossing parts, and i still cant find a definate answer to this one. i was wondering if springs from any other vehicle such as a truck or something will fit in place of the stock springs on my 92 firebird. its a v6 to v8 swap so i know i need harder springs and i also know i can just pull them off of a v8 firebird/camaro but i was wondering if i coul broaden my selection when i get to the junkyard this weekend.

Re: Front spring question...sorry

The stock IROC front springs are also S10 extended cab front springs. G body springs interchange but they are all too soft.

Re: Front spring question...sorry

I think any spring off a Full size Truck is going to be to long, they have too much wheel travel to account for. But a small truck, like S-10 might fit.80's Caprice maybe???

Why not the Moog IROC-style replacements: 5662 and 5665? You should certainly be able to purchase them at Autozone.

you make a good point but if the donor vehicle looks pretty enough ill probably take them. i guess it depends on how much i they want to charge me.

Re: Front spring question...sorry

Don't bother with used springs. They're GARBAGE.

Use the numbers JamesC posted. Or, an alternative in the front is 5664, and one for the rear is CC635.

Don't bother with used springs out of ANY kind of vehicle. Too much work, not worth saving literally only pennies on the parts and then doing ALL THAT WORK, and putting other worn-out parts in. Kind of like buying a used water pump at the buzzard. There's things that are perfectly good to get used, and things that are NOT. Springs are a NOT kind of thing.

Re: Front spring question...sorry

What's your autozone price on new springs? I paid about $70 for a set of fronts, that's with the $CA markup. I imagine you'd get them for ~$50. That's NOTHING. You can put all new springs on the car, AND get a case of beer for $150. I'd be laughing all the way to the bank.
5662 stiff
5664 stiffest

cc635 cargo coils for rear
5665 std rear springs.

I have the 5664/cc635 combo and I love it.
