Installing SFC's - Can I just lift the car up on jacks?
I'm putting in some sfc's to help stiffin' things up.
My question is....can I put the car on the hoist and weld the sfc's in?
I thought I read somewhere that you have to lift up the car by the wheels? Why?
Can I just lift it on the hoist and weld the sfc's in?
Need to know
Thanks
Dom

Re: Installing SFC's - Can I just lift the car up on jacks?
you need to have the weight of the car on the suspension or else the car will be flexed and/or twisted and when you put the sfc's in it will stay that way, so you need a drive on rack, jack stands up the front control arms and the rear axle, or use drive on ramps. but the car needs to be at ride height and the weight of the car on the suspension

As Badazz84 wrote. You do need the weight of the car on the wheels. Here is a thread with some info on it. Use the Search feature and you'll get more info. It has been covered more then once.
