a-arm bushing removal question
Could the front a-arm bushings be removed without the use of a press? I want to get mine changed, but we don't have a press for me to use.

You are going to need a press and some other tools to get those things out. When I did mine it was a PITA. Those things are in there pretty good.

Crap. I was hoping I could do it tomorrow after work. Looks like I'll have to wait til I can get off early enough to get back to the shop and take the a-arms off and take em somewhere with a press.

I used the "cup kit" (Ball joint press I think it was or something?) you rent at autozone and a hammer.

Hmmmm.... I may have to try that. I could get it done much faster without having to find someone to run me across town to get em pressed out.

Re: a-arm bushing removal question
I drilled my rubber bushings out. Think I used a 5/16''s bit. Hit them with the drill a few times and then use a hammer and metal rod to finish them.
Never burn them out.
Try not to tear up the sleve to much, some times the poly bushing will slip right into them, but not allways.
If the sleves have to come out, a sawsall and a claw hammer works good.

Re: a-arm bushing removal question
you can always take the a-arm into a shop have them press out and install the new bushings.... less hassle
