I have 86 Iroc-Z and just got a set of spohn polyurethane control arm bushings. How do you replace the control arm bushings? Do i have to pull the control arms off the springs in order to do this. I don't have a springs compressor or anything. Is the front or the back easier to replace. Im considering just bringing the bushings and my car down to the STS and having them install them. What do you guys think? I want to do as much as i can. The back LCAs look easy to do.

they look easy ( the back ) and they are. The fronts are a bit different.
i removed it from the spindle, removed the coil spring with a crow bar ( not recommended unless you have a cage cause that spring is powerful) then undo the 2 bolts and drop it down. the bushings are a pain to pull.....

They are a press fit.....
For the fronts, you can spend a few hours witgh a torch, burning the bushings out, hammering, burning, hammering, until you FINALLY get them out. THEN, you still hafta hammer the new ones in.
Or just take them to a shop, spend a few bucks, have them press (hydraulic press) the old ones out, press the new ones in, and your done.
