Clunk on take off
Clunk on take off
My rear suspension is fairly stock. Stock torque arm with a poly mount, stock trans mount, a set of those dropzone springs that were all over a couple years ago I think they were 2 inch drop.
Coming out of the hole with the mildest amount of throttle you can feel a thump somewhere in the rear suspension. It almost feels like the torque arem smacking the floor board near the back of the console or so. There is no evidence in the floor boards of this actually happening.
The U-Joint is fine.
I know fairly little about suspension.
Is this mabey a problem with the control arm angle and I need lower control arm reolcation brackets?
Help!

Re: Clunk on take off

I had an 86 Iroc.. and it clunked also...

and its not overly expensive to repair~

my berli does this as well, i think on mine it's the torque arm slipping between the 2 pieces of the mount but haven't torn it down to see yet

Re: Clunk on take off
Yep i had the same problem with my z28. Clunking on take off. It was the trans mount. Cost me about $10 and 5 mins worth of work and the problem was fixed. You can check it out by starting the car and have someone stand on the side of your car while the hoods up and lay on the brakes and hit the gas and if you see the motor torque real bad then 90% sure thats your prob.
