Spohn Driveshaft Loop Install
I searched around and couldn't find a precise answer to my question. I ordered a driveshaft safety loop from Spohn a while back for my 1984 T/A. The transmission crossmember has a single, centrally located 10mm slot. The Spohn loop requires a two bolt poly transmission mount, and I have one from Prothane ready to go. Can you see any issues with me doing the following:
- Mill two 7/16" slots into the crossmember, 1.5" apart, centered on the existing slot
- Weld a small strip of 1/8" material into the center slot, and grind flat
- Bolt the loop to the crossmember and Prothane mount from the bottom
I was unsure if later third gens came with a two slot crossmember. Grabbing one of those would probably be less work if they exist. The transmission is a 700R4, if it matters.
