B4C Police Package What made it special?
I was just remembering the only police car they had in the Town of Boones Mill, Va. It was a 3rd gen with a police package....it was sold on ebay after it was replaced with a jet black GTO.
The point is what made the B4C so special, besides the intimidating black and white paint.
From http://www.camarosource.ca/main_new_...police_pkg.htm
They state :
The 1991 B4C option cost $3,135 on top of the RS Coupe base list price of $12,180. It included the G92 Performance Axle package, which necessitated the choice of the LB9 305 with five (5)-speed manual transmission or the B2L 350 with four (4)-speed automatic transmission. The B4C option with the 350 V-8 cost $3,950. With either engine, the performance dual catalytic converter exhaust system was included, along with air conditioning, 16-inch aluminum wheels mounted with 245/50ZR16 blackwall tires, four (4)-wheel disc brakes, engine oil cooler, 105-amp alternator, heavy-duty 630 cold-crank-amp battery, heavy-duty electrical systems for the amount of gadgets that will be put into the car by the police department. 145-mile per hour speedometer, Z28 suspension, and the limited-slip 3.23:1 differential rear axle. The package included the base UM7 radio which could be deleted for credit, but other radios couldn't be ordered. Other options available included RPO codes AU3, A31, B34, B35, B84, C49, DG7, D27, K05 and K34. All interiors, including leather, were available. Chevrolet built 592 RS Coupes with "B4C" equipment for 1991.
I was wondering more from a suspension mindset what did the General change?
Are they nothing more than and IROC in police clothing?

Re: B4C Police Package What made it special?
i thought they got all the goodies... which is basically what they did. look at the list... its like my formula 350 but with bigger altinator/ heavier gauge wireing... theres nothing that special since bout them except it was a cop car and limited... but i would STOMP one on the road if i ever saw it lol.
thought they got that million mile extra durable coolant hoses etc same thing as the later chevy capri's that got it wit the LT1's... its a lime green hose color....

Re: B4C Police Package What made it special?
So suspension wise are these cars just RS?
Did they get special brakes, swaybars, shocks/struts ?
Cause we all know a cop in a camaro strikes fear in all criminals, but is it
really justified, is it all in our heads?

Nothing special as far as straight-line performance.
