lakewood trailing arms

anyone use them or have any feed back? they are around 100.00 at jegs and summit so i thought i might get them and they have poly bushings also that would be an upgrade over the stock arms.

Re: lakewood trailing arms

lake wood arms are a good upgrade over stock. People have there opinions on poly bushings and binding, but they are a good piece none-the-less.

I will second Kris, check out the GP, its just starting and should happen. UMI's parts are very top quality and you can save a few bucks with the GP, maybe splurge on some other parts too.

I would recommend a control arm with poly bushings on 1 side and a rod end of some kind on the other, to help eliminate some bind.

Re: lakewood trailing arms

i went with the umi parts and they should be at my house tuesday, the best part is they are only about an hour drive from my house . as for binding i was told i shouldnt have a problem unless im pushing the car to its limits on a road course so i should be fine.

I must push mine to the limits too much. I got my car to do it so much on on-ramps, I could predict when it was going to happen. It's not a fun experience. That's why I built my current LCAs. Much better all around, IMO - ride, noise, handling performance.
No offence to UMI's product, or anyone elses, it's just the nature of putting a bushing in a location in which the bushing is too stiff to allow the suspensnion to operate the way it's designed to.

Re: lakewood trailing arms

Here's some Spohns, also a board sponsor.
Getting ready to weld in the Sub Frame Connectors
also Spohn. Also running thier relocation brackets, adjustable torque arm and track bar. Poly to frame and Hiem to suspension, noise cushion.
Poly front and Hiem rear, keeps the ajustability in
play if needed.

Re: lakewood trailing arms

jaykar: Your a day late and a dollar short. Deadman has alread purchased LCAs.

On another note: I used to live out there in Prescott for 5 years, lived in PV for a summer. Have to say, I loved the scenery, but besides that, not much to do.

Re: lakewood trailing arms

As to this part of the country, Yes it is nice.
70 and clear today and going to take the Roc up in
the mountains today and clear it out a little.

Older generation, so not much to do here just fine
with us
T-tops off and 500+ Hp under the hood is plenty to
do here.
Going to datalog, take pictures and get ready for next
step, Two stage NOS-Carefully!
75 or 100 at 60ft and 150 at 1/8.
Big problem down low on motor as to traction now, Even
with all the good suspension pieces in place.

Re: lakewood trailing arms

I really like the color of the control arms and PHB on your car. Not seen that before.

Re: lakewood trailing arms

Thanks,

One of the reasons along with the quality was he went
to the extra trouble to powdercoat all the pieces to match
the gold Iroc trim on the car.

At no extra charge.

Another pic.
