coilover wont fit!!! help

I had bought a set of Lakewood struts a while back and just got a set of coilover kits from a supplier that i cant remember the name of. The coilover tube will not slide over the strut. I went to the parts store and all the struts there seemed to be 2.19" o.d. as well. the I.D. of the coilover sleeve is 2.17. Is there a particular year strut or something that will work. Its soooo close yet so far away.
