front end list, please help.

Hello all,
First I would like to say that I greatly appreciate any help given.

I am restoring a 1986 z28. For now I'm just trying to get it road worthy so I'm not going to need high performance parts...More like budget parts for now. I have searched the forums, and didn't find exactly what I am looking for, sorry if i am duplicating old posts!

Im going to completely do the front end...breaks, suspension..all that good stuff. Is there anyway I can get a list of everything I will need?

Since you are on a budget, you are going to need to decide what you want to replace. That means going over the car and looking at what's in bad shape and needs replacing. That being said, some things will need replacement pretty much outright (if they've not been replaced). That's the struts, probably strut mounts and any stock rubber parts left on the car.
Have you looked at the sticky on the top of the forums? Front Suspension 101?

Re: front end list, please help.

I would look at rockauto.com , I work at a garage and their prices are even better then the discounts I get at the parts stores. I always prefer moog suspension parts, they're normally in the median price range and have a very good reputation quality wise. Also as stated above if the shocks and struts haven't been done in the last 50k miles you should definetly put them on your to do list.

Re: front end list, please help.

Thanks guys. I checked out that front end 101 thread. It was extremely helpful. I checked ouy Spohn's website, and their prices on somethings are surprisingly reasonable!

Im thinking im going to buy the front end rebuild kit thing, shocks, struts, springs, all the works.

Thanks again, Im sure you will be hearing from me again soon with some more detailed questions =D

Re: front end list, please help.

I'd suggest picking up the Haynes manual for the car... they go through most of the stuff you need and even tell you how to do it, with pictures.
