Im pretty sure that will fit under your car. Im running 295/50/15s for street tires under the rear of mine with no modifications on stock rims. I plan on trying to stick something a little bigger under there once my engine build is done for drag tires, but I might need to do a little pounding to the inner fender wells to fit something like a 28" tall tire.

Re: how wide can i go?
I know either the 275/50/15 or the 275/60/15 fit no problem, but I'm sure a 295 would work too. I used 325/50/15's at the end of last season that took just some hammering, but am looking at most likely using a set of 295/65/15 that shouldn't take much work if at all.

also i was wondering if anyone knew of a inexpensive aftermarket wheel thats fairly light in weight. i want something to run at the track but wanna shave some weight to offset the extra pounds the bigger tires gonna add? i priced some cragar steel wheels only to find they were heavier than the stock 15s

Re: how wide can i go?
The 325/50/15's outer dimensions measure about 27.5" tall and 13" wide. I had to do some hammering, but they fit nicely with the 15"x10" 6.5" BS wheels. To do it completely right would take some cutting/welding, but since I don't turn hard with the drag tires on I don't care enough to put the work into that. I don't know how much the width helped considering it also hooked with a set of 275/60's, but they grabbed much harder than the 275/50's I was running for most of this past season. I have a few pics, just PM me if you want.

Re: how wide can i go?
Ill def. PM you, I like the sound of 325/50/15s under the car for dragging Hehe. I could keep my 295/50/15s for street use since there I have no rubbing issues with them and I might have some issues with the 325's. You might be pretty close to me too, Im from the Pittsburgh, PA area.
I work at National Tire & Battery, so being an employee I can order up to 4 tires a year for 10% under THEIR cost so Id like to buy the right ones the first time so I can buy two 37.5" + tires for my truck lol since they aren't cheap either.
