What size are the bolt's that.......

I am looking to find the size of the bolts that hold on the rear LCR's and the panhard bar. Are these cars metric or standard? I find most, if not all of the bolts fit metric sockets and wrenches better than standard. I am looking for the shank size of the bolts. If they are standard I will know what the shank size is if you only know the size of the socket it takes to remove them. Thank's

Phil

I'm not sure of the head size, but they're definitely metric, along with everything else on the car. I'd guess the head is around 15-17mm, but it's been a while since I've had one loose.

Bolt head size is 18mm. As for the thread pitch i think it is 1.5, but i am not positive on it.

The Panhard requires 2 stepped bolts. IIRC the bolt is 21mm, and the nut is 18mm. Go to your local dealer, they got them.

Yes, it's a goofy stepped thing.
Personally? Grab your drill and drill it out to 1/2", grab gr8 bolts and use imperial. That way if you drop/lose/let-rust, the existing bolts, you don't have to rely on a dealer anymore.

That's what I wanted to hear. Sounds like a plan. Is it steped so the nut tightens on the sholder (step) of the bolt before it actualt tightens anything together and causes something to bind? Thank's

Re: What size are the bolt's that.......

No, you don't tighten onto the shoulder. The shoulder ends midway through the bushing. The stepped part only prevents you from putting the bolt in "backwards". It's difficult to put it in backwards anyway, because you can't fit it through with the disc brakes on (or whatever is in the way...)
