Re: torque arm?????

Get one. An aftermarket adjustable torque arm removes the flexibility of the factory arm. It also moves the torque arm off the back of the tranny and puts it onto the tranny crossmember.

Suspension adjustability is a tuning aid. What works well in one car may not work in another. Pinion should be anywhere from zero to 5 degrees down in relation to the driveshaft. What works best in your car will be a trial and error setting.

I just figured I would throw this out there for you! We have a few different torque arms too choose from as well anywhere from stock length adjustable to tunnel mounted, below is a link to show you what we have to offer!

http://www.umiperformance.com/produc...ategory_id=114

If you have any other questions feel free to ask and I will be glad to help!

Thanks
Brad

It provides a better IC for drag racing, it allows the suspension to react faster providing better traction at the tires.

It also has 2 link plates that allow the torque arm to move forward and backward with the rear end.

See the two plates on the right, they connect the crossmember mount to the torque arm.

Re: torque arm?????

1.8 60fts on slicks? something is definitely not working right. Plenty of guys with completely stock suspension getting that or better with slicks.

What is the pinion angle currently at(although you can't adjust it, you can check it's setting)? What hole do you have the control arms in on the relocates, and what springs are in the back(what ride height)? - Can you feel it spinning/does it feel to be spinning more on the n2o?

i will feel a shudder from time to time
last 2 times out i had nobody to shoot video

i do have the control arms on the lowest holes and have not tried the other hole
never measured pinion angle to date
stock factory (84) springs in back stock ride height

only ran 1 n20 run....last run of the season last year.....it had to of spun if i felt it or not (i was way too excited to be honest)

i will get an adjustable torque arm!!!!!!
if i can cut .2 off of my short time i will be extatic

Re: torque arm?????

Your relocation brackets for the LCA are a tuning aid. The LCA should be parallel to the ground or slightly down at the rear. Too low at the rear can cause wheel hop.

Wheel hop is often caused by hitting the tires too hard and having them rebound. With slicks they may not hop after rebounding, they often just spin.

I'm sure stock 84 springs have settled some with age, and are probably a bit soft in general. That combined with running the lca's in the bottom hole is not likely creating too good of suspension tune.

The converter could also be a cuplrit. Running the same 60' on n2o as NA means it's either spinning worse than normal or driving through the converter.
