Weekend Cruiser setup.

Question the the knowledgeable:
I own a stock 89 IROC with the 350 TPI. I plan to keep it stock with very few mods such as upgraded cat-back, hi-flo cat, K&Ns etc... As far as the suspension, I will be installing poly bushings all around. Just bought the kit from Classic Industry. Kit did not come with sway bar bushings due to different sizes. Will need to take measurements.
I want to drop the car one inch front and rear with Eibach springs. My question is. With the amount of driving I do which is just for a cruise every couple of weeks or so and no hard driving or racing, will I also need to upgrade the shocks, new panhard etc.... ? Any damage to entail if droping the car with only springs and not upgrading anything else? Thank you.

Re: Weekend Cruiser setup.

Hello
I would suggest anytime you are going to lower a vehicle go with a adjustable pan hard bar to allow you to recenter the rear end. And as far as lower control arms you would be fine with non adjustable as well! Seeing how you are looking for a good quality ride! Below is a link to show you what all UMI Performance has to offer!

If you have any other questions feel free to ask and I will be more than glad to help!
Thanks

Re: Weekend Cruiser setup.

I agree with getting an adjustable panhard rod - they aren't much, and it will recenter the car after lowering it - you don't have to get the one that's adjustable on both ends, the single ended adjustable will be fine. I didn't do LCA's, and I have no problems. I did Eibach's & Bilsteins all around, and I must say it's a great ride compared to the old wore out stock.

But beware - adding the Eibach lowering springs will not literally lower your car - if anything it would actually raise it! If your current springs are original factory, more than likely they are so old and sagged that when you "lower", you'll actually look raised a tad from before. But they make for a great ride!
