Whenever i go over small bumps.. It sounds like 2 sets of steel chains rattling.. Its going on in the front end.. Sounds like something is very loose. Any ideas?

 

I got a 91' Bird >> Same thing...... New rims and tires balanced and inflated properly, replaced struts and end link bolts. While on jacks, pulled and yanked on everything >> Tie-rods, springs, breaks, framing, exhaust, drive shaft >> NOTHING BUDGED! Subscribed! I have heard this question asked many times. Same problem? Ahaha.. I freak out everytime i go over bumps because i think the wheels are going to fall off. lol. Looked underneath and didnt see any loose bolts or anything so im stumped

 

Check the sway bar links, mine had the same problem. New set of Moogs and I was good to go.

 

Easiest way to tell if it's sway bar related it to remove one of the links and take it for a drive. If the noise is still there, it's something else.

 

Well when i looked at mine there wasnt even a rubber bushing on them, both sides. I have only had this car 1 day.

 

Sounds like a sway bar end link problem, as mentioned above. It should be pretty easy to spot if it is, just reach in there and play with em and see if they rattle.
