good swaybar

need to get a new bar to help the car launch a little more level. i was told that if i just put an aftermarket bar in such as the one spohn sells it will help tremendously without buying the 400 dollar drag one. help me out.

Re: good swaybar

a larger, stiffer rear bar will keep the car from rolling as much when you launch, but the largest factory one you will find is 24mm.

Spohn makes the drag bar, UMI has a nire one, i think BMR makes one and racecraft, and wolfe racecrraft make antiroll bars, some require welding, others dont.

Re: good swaybar

thats pretty much the same size as the largest stock size. Depending on what you have now, it could be an improvement. Need to measure what you have first.
If its more of a drag car than a street car, you would benefit by the larger drag bar that spohn sells, even though it cost more.

Re: good swaybar

never heard of the gas tank effecting the swaybars?????? the factory sizes range from 19mm-24mm the spohns is 25.4mm and made of stiffer steel, i have run both the 24mm and spohn 1" swaybars the spohn is way stiffer than the factory 24mm, if you have a 19mm or 21 mm, the factory 24mm or 1" spohn bar will make a huge difference

i have never heard of the wolfe bar????

Re: good swaybar

the wolfe racecraft bar and kind of a universal bar, it has a torsion bar and tube that welds tot he chassis and links that weld to the axle, so i can see it needing a fuel cell and being in the way of the stock tank.

UMI has a new 1.25 rear drag bar setup thats pretty sweet, almost 400 bux though, but its a bolt in deal, with a welding option. Works wit the stock fuel tank

Re: good swaybar

def like the look of the umi one. looks like the spohn and a hair cheaper. probly end up getting that one. the fact that its new means there probly isnt anyone on here that has one.

How bad does the car roll (or twist) on launch?
