Brake Job; new noise

I recently replaced my front brake pads w/ stock AC Delco pads, I had the rotors machined, and I lubed the slide points on the calipers. Now I'm noticing a slight vibration, especially during slight right turns above 50 MPHs. The vibration can be felt through the steering wheel, can be heard, and can be felt on the floor. The vibration is very faint, but obvious enough and consistent enough for me to know I'm not "hearing things."

I applied a fingerful of high-temp grease to the wheel bearing upon reinstallation of the rotors on the spindles, and the spindles still had a large amount of grease on them anyway.

Does anybody have any idea what this could be??? This is very annoying, and I'm worried, and help is greatly appreciated,

Jason

If the problem wasn't there before the brake job & from your post you don't mention if the problem exists with brakes on or brakes off, I think your problem is wheel bearing adjustment. Also, you did remember to pack the wheel bearings? That means the bearings themselves, not the spindle or hub.

Excuse my stupidity, but how exactly do you pack the bearings? I simply reused the wheel bearings and put them in with hand pressure. As far as I can tell, the problem exists regardless of whether the brakes are being applied or not.

Thanks for the info, if you think it might be the bearings let me know, and I'll tear the rotors of again to make sure. Could you also please explain packing the bearings?

Any help is appreciated,

Jason

Definately sounds like a bearing issue. You can repack the bearings by taking a glob of grease in the palm of your hand and forcing the grease through the top of the bearing. Make sure you tighten the bearings when you reassemble sounds like you left them too loose.

Thanks a bunch, I repacked the bearings and the noise/vibration is gone.
