Same spring rate, possibly different trim height. You are better off putting in a set of Suspension Techniques or Eibach springs, that is if you can afford them.

The 1LE springs are stiffer than the WS6 spings, just like the sway bars are bigger on a 1LE car than a WS6.

The 1-LE springs are NOT stiffer than the late 80's - early 90's WS-6 springs. I have checked. I have multiple sets of both kind, they even have the same spring codes in many cases. The sway bars are also the same size. The 1-LE cars came with a 36mm hollow front bar which was available on 86-up WS-6 TransAm or 89-up Z-28 Camaro. 24mm rear bars are also NOT unique to the 1-LE. I have worked on so many non-1-LE cars that have the big bars and stiff springs to know this first hand. I can always find big bars and good springs at wrecking yards with ease. They are common. I have NEVER seen anything bigger or badder than these bars and springs on any stock 1-LE car. Having a 1-LE car myself, and having half a dozen 1-LE cars in the club I belong to, three of which are on my team and are prepared by me, and having worked on too many different 1-LE cars to count on my hands, I think I know what the deal is. How many 1-LE cars have you worked on Wraith?

Yeah, the 1LE and WS6 sway bars were the same, so i would assume the springs are too. The 1LE did get better shocks and the Vette brakes.

Re: WS6 or 1LE Springs?

I have an 85 t/a and i'm looking at some 1LE springs for cheap, i have no clue what suspension the car had stock, it has addco sway bars(any good?) and the rear sits very high, like, 3 to 4 inch over the rear tire, and a good inch and a half above the front, in any case, i was wondering what the consensus was on the 1LE's. I know they're about the same as ws6(i searched) but i dunno if i actually have ws6's, and my other set has 160,000 miles on them under a heavy GTA.

I also have a set of 87 WS6 sway bars on my parts car, would these be better then the addco's? Addco seems a lower tier manufacturer.

Re: WS6 or 1LE Springs?

Sorry guys i just re read my post and realized it didn't make too much sense, my questions are:

1) How high does a ws6 car sit stock?

2)are Addco sway bars better then 87 ws6 sway bars? Can i tell by simply looking at diameter? i know the addco's are shaped differently.

Re: WS6 or 1LE Springs?

My impression is Addcos are generally decent sway bars. Addco makes aftermarket swaybars for many cars. They are US made, not just US labeled.
However, I have no info or experience with 3rd Gen applications.

Re: WS6 or 1LE Springs?

hmm, i don't like the balance of the car right now, with the rear so high and and the swaybars it feels very tight and i have problems kicking it out even with decent wheel spin, maybe the posi is tired. i didn't have that problem with the GTA, though it had a 350.
