Weld on or bolt on relocation brackets for my lca?

Which are better? And who makes the best ones? Are the bolt on ones a direct bolt on? or do I have to drill? thanks

I saw an ad for bolt-ons in a magazine. It may have been GMHTP, but I can't quite remember.

There are at least two companies I know of that make bolt on relocation brackets. What they do is use the LCA bolt like all the brackets do, and then they run a third point that bolts fast to the lower shock bolt.

I could easily build them, but I won't. We played around with it, and do not feel it is at all safe. Plus, you get alot of twist in the LCA bracket under acceleration load because they only tie one side of the bracket on the front side (shock bolt).

The lower shock mount is designed to take a vertical load (the shock). It is not designed to take an extreme horizontal load.

Our verdict was that it was not the optimum in safety and/or performance. We feel the only right, and safe way to install relocation brackets is to weld them on.

I am not putting down anyone's product, just sharing my thoughts after we conducted R&D on this.

Steve

Do these brackets improve cornering? My car has been lowered.
