Min weight?
I'm in the process of removing weight from my '92Z28 (305 / M5). I'm trying to get an idea as to what sort of weight I can expect to get the car down to with just a 6 pt road race cage and a driver's seat in the car.
What sort of numbers have you guys seen? Does 2900 - 2925 sound reasonable?

roughly i'd say about that, maybe a little more. i've removed most extras ,heater, wiper motor, interior, and any thing else thats not needed. not had a chance to get it on scales yet though. going to lexan instead of glass will save you around 300 pounds i hear.

I've often thought about the weight of the 2 ton rear hatch and replacing it with light weight lexan. I'm interested in a way to do this and make it look right.

Mine still has steel doors and fenders and all the glass and race ready with me in it (when it had the smallblock) was 3045 pounds. I weigh about 160 so low 2900's is possible. My bar is 70 pounds but I removed 70 pounds from the doors by switching to manual doors and removing the crash bar from inside them.
Bumpers, heater/AC, manual steering box, fiberglass hood, remove everything from the interior that you don't need.
The rear glass is very heavy but the weight in a good spot over the rear wheels. Change the windshield and side windows first.
This is a very stripped down race car with subframe connectors and 6 point bar. If I really got into it more I could probably find another 100-200 pounds. I still have a factory style seat. It's out of a small buick. I still have the dash and dash pad. I still have the center console.

Thanks for the suggestions guys.
Unfortunately, the car is a road race car, and going to lexan front or rear glass is not in the rules. I can however swap in a 'glass hood, which I'll be doing as soon as I can locate an 82 - 83 glass hood. I am required to keep the stock dash and instrument cluster, but everything else under it can (and already has) go.
I'm glad to hear that low 2900's are an attainable goal. Now I just need to start pulling more stuff.

My 82 bird has everything in it, it came with. Granted it was a 4cyl car w/o air or power anything. When I weighed it, it weighed 3240lbs. That weight was with me, my tool box 12gal air tank, lawn chair, And a glove box full of s--t. My weight is 180, tool box 10lbs,air tank 25lbs, lawn chair & ect 10lbs. Plus it lost weight by itself, i.e the holes over the wheel wells, lowere part of the doors.
It might be rust bucket but its paid for.
