Boxed torque arm pics

what is the best way to box a torque arm? Anyone have pics? I have a welder and flat stock! thoughts?

Boxing it is a waste of time, IMO, as any problems usually encountered with the arms, are at the mounting point on the trans. When they fail thats where they let go.

gottcha, i got a poly bushing at the tranny, but i was thinking i could rduce some twist and flex on the cheap, plus i like to weld. i haven't had any failure yet...and dont want to buck up $200 for a tublular. thanks Pics anyone?

My old Formula that I sold had a stock arm, and laid down 1.50's 60 ft times with just a poly bushing. Never had any problems with the arm.

oh, ok. i was thinking it would flex or soemthing when cornering and launching, etc. i guess i'll leave it alone then. thanks

No, if you like to weld...knock yourself out. I am just saying that if you thought it was a necessary mod, its not, IMO. I am sure it would flex less, but, its not adding strength where its needed.

What kind of rear control arms do you have? Boxing the stock arms, and adding poly bushings would be a good thing to do yourself, and you would be strengthening them as well, that is, if they are the stock "U" shaped arms.
