Spohn, UMI, or BMR?
I was wanting to buy some suspension upgrades for my car and was wondering if any brand is better than the others?

Re: Spohn, UMI, or BMR?
i've used Spohn and UMI for different things, havent used BMR yet. Most things are of similar quality, no wrong choice of whom you buy from. But certain parts from the three are made diffferently and with different materials, so a little looking around and you can decide which you like better.
Most of what i have on my cars is from UMI, some parts including some custom work, from Spohn.

Re: Spohn, UMI, or BMR?
i have all the spohn stuff as shown in my sig. not biased against the other brands, but spohn's advertisting on here and camaroz28.com led me to choose them. I like their products so i will continue to get everything from them. Also due to my location, i can order ground shipping and receive my order the next day.

I had an issue with my UMI LCAs, I run all Spohn and when I replaced my LCAs with Spohn's I was happy. I don't like adjusting nuts moving by themselves, it ticks me off................

Just droped another $900+ bucks on sphon front end parts.. i did not want to at this time, But, got a good deal on a Front K Member off ebay.
the K member is Brand new and was what i would have paid $640 for Shipped, but picked it up for $465 shipped.

you can fit a pretty large tire with a minitub, and its a lot cheaper if you do it yourself.

I have mixture of all 3. All the parts from all 3 companies were top notch. Just bought when I saw sales, group purchases, and opportunities to keep the costs down as much as possible.

Re: Spohn, UMI, or BMR?
I like UMI because they are a smaller outfit and tend to our needs as thirdgen owners. Not many companies have such a comprehensive line-up of quality, affordable parts for our cars. I do like hotchkis myself, but IMO, BMR and Spohn are a bit overpriced. I have UMI parts with the exception of a TDS wonderbar, and I love UMI's gear. Going to buy an adj panhard from them to replace my solid umi panhard, great stuff

Re: Spohn, UMI, or BMR?
over priced? I dont see it, go to there web site (Spohns)more then 2 or 3 times
and you will get parts 10% off and more, (auto sale add pops up)
i just saved close to $90 with a $880 order. thats before shipping
but all that aside.. spohn and others make alot more parts.
BUT: from what i see. you have a few things to Look at.
it pays to shop, I can tell you that, with doing the shopping I did, i saved close to $300 ON all my front end parts,
Just look at every bodys parts!

Re: Spohn, UMI, or BMR?
i just bought a crap load of UMI, cant say about how they work on the car yet. UMI has sales all the time, that when i bought mine. Also buy it through summit racing you will save SO much on shipping. Its just summit is so big compared to UMI and spohn and all that.

Re: Spohn, UMI, or BMR?
I have a mixed bag of parts. Just installed the Spohn front end rebuild kit and the A arms. Great parts and excellent service. I installed Alston sub-frame connectors 6 years ago and never had a problem with them. J&M LCA and panhard rod 8 years ago. Never had a problem and great service.

Re: Spohn, UMI, or BMR?
I've used all three brands on different vehicles with no complaints. BMR used to be the least expensive, but now all three are about the same depending upon which part you need. I just installed a UMI wonderbar and BMR LCAs/Panhard on my current Formula with great results...

Check out founders performance on ebay, they make some nice rear suspension pieces for our cars. Not sure if they are making front suspension/subframes yet.

Re: Spohn, UMI, or BMR?
I've used Spohn and BMR parts before. Both were excellent quality, packing, and etc. I'm sure UMI is great also.
I really like to use Spohn products when I can. I believe it just says something about a company when in the past I've called into the Tech Line and have had Steve answer my questions personally.

Re: Spohn, UMI, or BMR?
I did lots of research about how the parts were made and decided to go UMI with a lot of my stuff. Definitely a choice I do not regret. With what I have under my third gen and some 17 inch wheels I take some nasty corners and outrun all my friends in twisties, even with my little 305. But they all just talk a lot and aren't really willing to back it up.
