Strut Tower Brace, any good?
I have many chassis upgrades and know what works well and what doesn't. I'm wondering if anyone has a strut tower brace and has good things to say about them. Can you actually feel a difference from this piece? I have a Z28 and carb with no clearance between the hood and the air filter. Does someone make one for my application?

I just installed an edelbrock stb the other day and it made the steering feel a lot more direct. Definately a mod you can feel. I think edelbrock might make one for your car. Check carparts.com, they have coupons here http://www.camaroz28.com/carparts/

I agree... do it! You will be kicking yourself why didnt I do this sooner! I recently installed one it helped alot on my car. I will be preaching this mod till every thirdgen has one.
The towers flex bad on these cars,it gets worse with high mileage.
Get a 3 point brace if you can find one.

JDMZ28,
I have heard it is sort of tight for a carb car with dual snorkel and AC bracket. Someone said you have to modify the AC bracket. Check out www.edelbrock.com and you might be able to get a picture of it there. Spohn performance is coming out with one in the spring. I have a picture of edelbrock stb on a 91 firebird but don't know how to post pictures to this board.
Have fun,
Craig

i rember reading post awhile back that someone said they had heard of windshields cracking under extreme turning when you have a strut tower brace installed. Is this possible?

Wouldn't a STB prevent that from happening?

never heard the windshield thing.I would think it would be oppisite.anyway I think edelbrock and retailers need to drop the carb listing for thier brace until they make it really fit.its not a true bolt on piece for a carb car with ac.
