best shocks/struts?

I don't know what camaros have, (shocks or struts or both) but my car rides like a tank. I want to know which shocks or struts would be best for a smooth ride on my camaro. I don't race or even drive fast in my car so handling and that isn't all that important. What are the benefits of certain shocks or struts.

KYB shocks and struts.$49.95 a peice for the struts, $27.95 a peice for the shocks from summit. Pretty good shocks/struts for the price.

Not being a smarta$$, but basically no 3rd gen rides smooth compared to most cars. This is why a stock V6 car handles about as good as a Mustang GT!!!

Hey Basett Racing but I know what he is talking about. I've driven a lot of 3rd gens (b/c I sell cars) & not one 3rd gen has ever felt as jarring as mine. They have all felt smooth and nice (T-tops & non T's). It feels worse than a damn Vette at times. I would like to know as well what the best is for the almighty dollar.

I agree with the man of steel...KYBs offer a nice ride and control. I have the standard KYBs on the rear of mine they were somewhere around 16.95 a shock. The fronts are around 49.95,Ive put over 30,000 miles on them and they are holding up well.

They are a good everyday shock that offers decent control in the turns IMO.

i don't expect to ride like a 30,000 dollar luxury car, but it would be nice to actually feel like i am riding on some suspension, right now it sucks bad.

KYB's for a budget replacement, Bilsteins for mid-range (they came stock on IROCs), and Koni for the best.

Having had both KYB and Bilsteins, i can say that a soft ride is with the KYB GR-2s. They are alot softer then the Bilsteins, plus a lot cheaper too.

I have koni. the red adjustable kind. They ride like crap, but handle great. I wouldn't recomend them if you are looking for more comfort. of course they are adjustable.
