E-brake

Sometimes the handle will not go all the way down and i have to wiggle it and pull it up and push it down, this has gone on 4 like 5 min. sometimes before it finally drops all the way down. Also sometimes, when i pull up on it it just comes right up and does not grab. Then i'll let it down and it may do this 2 or 3 more times, but then will work fine again...
any ideas?
Thanks

Question: Does the parking brake actually work?
Have to tested it lately?
I would say that it needs tightning. If it goes all the way up, there is too much slack in the line. Which would explain the inabilty to retract; it must bend.

To adjust it, grab a Haynes manual. It says to safely raise the rear of the vehicle. Lift the parking brake lever 2 "clicks."
Underneath the car, 1/2 way down from the front, and in the midlle (side-to-side), up above the exhaust pipe and track bar you'll see the adjuster. What you have to do is turn one nut while holding the other a bit at a time.
You check it by rotating one of the rear wheels. I think it says to turn it a certain direction, I can't remember.
Mine was ceased fron undercoating and I was unable to turn the nut with limited arm movement under the car. My friendly local garage took car of it for me for free (I paid them for bleeding the brakes though and checking my rear brake installation)

Any other help I can give, please ask or email me.

It might be awhile until I can that(I am back in school, and car is at dad's house) but I think it works (when it actually grabs) because when I use it on a hill, and then release it, the car rolls forward a little bit.
