IMHO and preference,,, I would go 1" lower... so that top of the tires have a nominal gap to the sheemetal... PERF

Anything special you needed to do to run the wider rims in the rear? Those 315's look PERFECT on there... nice wider tire that balance the rear fascia of the vehicle.

I already have a 4th gen Rear end for the car so didn't need any spacers. Just had to give a couple wacks with a hammer to a couple spots on the inner fender well area. probably less than 15 wacks with the hammer. wasn't that bad. Fits perfect no rubbing at all.

Looks perfect to me! You're on the brink of having clearance issues if you go much lower at all. Nice ride!

They're Gotti replica's. Real ones are 2 piece and quite spendy. They are a discontinued wheel.

Thanks. I was really hesitant to do black, I feel it has been over done, however it made a huge difference and I really like how they turned out.

Looks great, love your stance. Have you measured your front and rear ground to fender lip heights? I'm soon to order weight jacks and wouldn't mind dialing in my car to your stance. It honestly sits that good in my opinion.

Also, is it just me or is your front tire a little taller than the rear? or is it just the picture playing tricks on my eyes? It is low light so I can't really tell.

I live in a place that low is dangerus because the nose will hit every where.

This is my GTA know but if I lower it more I think wold be very hard to drive but if I go with air bags it will be better because I can change on the fly.

I love white GTA's, your looks great. Are you going to buy some home alignment tools? You'll need it if your constantly going to change the ride height. The only reason that I don't do my own alignments is because my garage floor is angled to allow water to drain out. You need a flat surface. Well that and I have a decent alignment guy that does custom specs and doesn't just toe-in-go like so many others I've run into in this state.

Thanks for the compliment I love my car, well I'm not really goin to put bags on it any time soon because I don't have the money. But if I ever have the money I'll just have two setting one for driving and one for sitting. Write know I'm just going to enjoy it as it is and fix some issues that it have before thinking to modify it.

To answer your questions, it has been a while since I measured, but I think the fronts were right around 25" and the rear around 27". If I remember tonight I can measure them for you and let you know the exact height. I wouldn't mind it being a little higher, tired of scraping my exhaust, but the ride quality is actually really nice.

The tires are the same, 275 40 R17, so any height difference is purly an optical illusion due to light level.

Yes, if you have the time I wouldn't mind knowing what the measurements are. As far as tire height goes i figured it was just the light, I just wanted to be sure. Thanks for answering and I'll keep an eye out on this post to see if you post your measurements. Take care.

^For reference, the tires on a thirdgen, assuming they're the right size, are 25.7 inches tall. You can estimate fender heights accordingly... I'd guess the IROC in question is 25.5-26", as 25" would be tucked a little.

And yeah, I totally agree... that looks killer.

That looks like stock 20+ year old thirdgen with factory spring ride height. My old 86 sat like that with factory suspension all the way around

Cool.

Hey 88fastgta, do you mean you scrape your front air dam or are you scraping elsewhere? My car is at about your height and the only thing I've ever managed to scrape is the plastic air dam for the radiator. My car is an iroc-z though, I'm not sure if the dimensions on your gta are really that different.

Scraping the air dam isn't a problem at all, in fact they were built to take that kind of abuse. Scraping the front bumper is a different story.

NOSHOWALLGO it is 25" in the front and 26.5" in the rear. I knew it was close to those numbers I gave you above. I love the way it sits, but my exhaust hanges a little low, near the cat, and scrapes on speed bumps and such. I wish it was about an 1" higher in the front and I would be happy.

Thanks for the measurements Drkhrse89. I'll set my car at your 26.5" on the rear. But I'll probably run 25.5" on the front for mine. I like the one inch rake.

I'll have to see if there's a way to modify the exhaust hangers near the cat to raise it about half an inch. I have the N10 dual cats and mine hangs pretty low just like you describe yours. It seams to only be low in that one area where the cats reside. I'm not sure whats up with that, the cat-back looks to be more tucked up from what I can tell when I'm under the car.

my custom exhaust is routed under the transmission pan... so whenever I go over the littlest of bumps it scrapes... my alston subframe connectors have scraped on me as well.... my parents garage is on a hill and I cannot get in the driveway without taking my y pipe off.... thank god my y pipe is bolt on...

Ah I see. I plan on just doing spohn perimeters sfc with the exhaust in the stock channel. I'm pretty sure I will only rarely scrape, if ever. If it's going to scrape anything it will just be the cats on mine.

That has got to drive you nuts going over bumps! Is there not another way to run the exhaust so you have better ground clearance for lowering?

Those SS wheels... I dont know what it is, but they look INCREDIBLE in gray or black, but that chrome, machined, or silver color makes them look terrible. I dont know why but a darker color just makes them look incredibly good. I love your car, great color, restrained, nice, and mean all at the same time.

Hey, thanks a lot. I am pretty darn critical of my car, so it is good to read positive comments like that. It has gone through a ton of change in the nearly 20 years I have owned it. I am finally getting to the point that I like the way it looks. It only took changing every suspension part, the wheels and tires, and getting a new paint job. Who knew that's all it would take.

Only the front is lowered for now with GC weight jacks. Need to buy more parts to do the rear. Took this Sunday morning before leaving for an autoX event. The lighting was perfect, hides all the paint flaws.

That seems lower than stock. Mine has around 2" from cat to ground. If you have stock suspension, that could explain why it is so low. The factory springs will be sagging quite a bit by now. Measure the fender height and if you are less than 27" then you are probably not at factory height.

Do you hit speed bumps straight on? If so, then you will be a whole lot more likely to scrape. My car scrapes even when I hit the speed bump with zero speed and at an angle. Can be annoying.

Nice stance TEDS! How many inches from the ground on that setup?

26" front, 26.5" rear. Debating on .25-.5 raise on rear.

26" is the number I thought would look good! That's what my goal will be.. So I basically need a one inch drop from where I'm at now (roughly 27" to 27.5").. How is ground clearance at that height? And why raise the rear? 0.5" is plenty higher in the rear no?

Would not want to go lower on street. Even cross country might require 26.5, but I'm not having problems, now. The LT's are ok so far.
