That's exactly right. For example, 16 inch rims will use 50 height tires, whereas 17 inch rims use 45. The overall tire size should be 25.7" (whether you go bigger wheel/smaller tire or vice versa). This way it won't affect overall car height or speedometer reading.

yeah it does the larger the rim means theres a larger radius from the ground to the center of the spindle thus making it higher, tires do the same thing

Not sure the details as the car came with the Eibach lowering springs but it sits pretty nice. I like it

Wrong again quiz kid. Tires determine the outside diameter of the wheel tire combo. You can have a 14" and 20" wheel/tire combo end up with the same outside diameter with the proper tire choice.

Exactly. It's not the wheel that affects this, it's the overall diameter of the outermost part of the tire. If a 16" wheel has a height of 50", then an 18" wheel must have 35 to have the same overall diameter of the outermost part of the tire, otherwise say if you had 50 height tire with an 18 inch rim then the overall diameter of the rim+tire (measuring from the outermost part of the tire) would be much greater than a 16" rim with 50 height tire.

I guess my car finally qualifies to have a picture in this thread
Pro-Kit springs, they claim a 1 inch lowering but I swear it dropped mine more like 2 inches. I didn't think to measure before doing it though.

Not sure they were done by a shop before I bought the car. I can tell you it is a lot lower than my friends 86 with stock springs. Might just be the pic angle but it looks lower in person than the red camaro in this thread.

The rear is pretty low, the front is what is too high. May just not be indexed properly... who knows.

Just installed GC weight jacks and new springs. This is all the way dropped- waiting for the springs to settle a bit more then decide on a final streetable height.

Here is the whole stance. Probably could get the rears down farther by pulling the isolators and going with heater hose instead.

Looking good!
that's how low I run my car too. To me it's perfectly streetable. You'll never scrape if you know how to adjust your driving style.

Agreed! Thats exactly where the wheels should be IMO too. I'm also interested in drop, as well as rim size and the entire wheel diameter. alot of people drop their cars 2 inches, but then put 20" rims on and end up back at square one.
Anyways, Lee's got some people waiting for his specs (btw, sick pics too, really well done)

Finally got mine cleaned up with some good pics for this thread. I put in Hotchkis Lowing Springs all the way around with isolators. Properly indexed with swaybar end links tightened on a loaded suspension. I'm also running Koni Yellow Shocks and Struts, 18" BMW rims, and 245/40/18" front, 275/40/18" rear tires. It turned out to be exactly the stance I was looking for.

Those wheels and tire combo are going to make your speedo read off. The tire is taller than it should be with an 18" rim (it should be 35 height). I actually find it looks good like this because there is more tire (not as stiff) and it fills the wheel well nicely. A new speedo gear is all that is necessary probably to recalibrate the speedo if you have 700r4.

iv always wondered how a sport coupe would look lowered, and painted one solid color (no striping or lower accent) and that looks pretty badass. from yours the only changes i would make to make it personal to myself would be using berlinetta marker lights, and using a differant hood. but its all in taste,

^ you could use 4th gen spring isolators (about half as thick as 3rdgens) or iv seen guys on here run no spring isolators and use a piece of heater hose wrapped around the top coil.
