"OFFICIAL" Lowered 3rd Gen Picture Thread (Post Your Pics Here)
Re: "OFFICIAL" Lowered 3rd Gen Picture Thread (Post Your Pics Here)
For anyone interested, this is what a set of sportlines should look like on a healthy, otherwise 100% bone-stock suspension. it's a little hard to see exactly how much gap there is between the tire and fender, but this should give you an idea of the height (stock tire size as well):

Josh thanks a lot for taking a pic of the sportlines. Now THAT stance is perfect...DropZones are such a shitty company, I can't understand how they have fairly good reviews. I've already placed my order for sportlines, can't wait to get these crappy springs out my car..

It seems they did as they are called....DROPzones. Don't bad talk a company just because they don't do EXACTLY what YOU are looking for. If your looking for the perfect ride height...then get something adjustable to adjust to what YOU want(weight jacks by Ground Control.) Or as someone else did...there is a company that has a different ride height spring to suit your liking.

Hotchkis springs, about an inch and half drop, very even. I've seen lots of lowering springs, and IMO, these are the best. Good compromise between height and handling, nice and stiff, but not overly harsh. Just the stance I was hoping for.

Here she is, sitting on Eibach Sportlines, KYB AGX shocks/struts, UPI sway bars, BMR rear lower control arms, BMR Re-location brackets, BMR adjustable panhard bar, BMR adjustable torque arm, and Bridgestone Potenza 245/50/16 ASPole Position tires on 16x8 IROC Rims. This is a "work in progress car" still a lot more to do....

Some awesome cars in this thread! I'll probably end up with the Sportlines for my car. It's not a race car by any means but a fun toy I can enjoy so why not have a stance that's bawlin' too?

Had Dropzone springs in my car for five years. No complaints. Car was cracking off 11.5 quarter mile times on DR tires.

Gorgeous car all around! Always loved yours. Great job.
This is BY FAR my favorite color combo on the 3rd gen IROCs. It will never go out of style. Beautiful car.
Anyways, heres a shot of my TA with Tokico 1 1/4" drop springs.

And a shot of my brother's 91 bird with Hotchkis springs....

Hotchkis website says 1" drop but norcalz28 said his was 1.5"? I'll probably end up with the Sportlines. Once I get my Ronal R15's mounted up I'll post a pic although it will have stock springs and no motor/trans

newer pic, bad angle it's MUCH lower than it looks, and the rear tires have a tiny sidewall
Re: "OFFICIAL" Lowered 3rd Gen Picture Thread (Post Your Pics Here)
aw heck I'll post mine. Not super low, it's a functional height. It's def. not as pretty as some of these cars but it makes up for its looks with world class cornering capability

Thanks guys, the wheels are CCW Classics. 17x11 up front, 17x12 in the back. Took a little bit of work to get em in there but it was well worth it.
Re: "OFFICIAL" Lowered 3rd Gen Picture Thread (Post Your Pics Here)
I am wanting to lower my car a little (Even with some terrible roads around here). I would like 1"-2" drop. How much should i cut off Factory springs to achive this? Also, is it necessary to have LCA Relocation Mounts, Lower Control Arm's, Adjustable Panhard Bar, and Aftermarket Shocks?
I'm wanting to do it without spending a lot of money as the car's getting fresh paint right now, and just got a fresh drivetrain.

When lowering these are not required unless your dropping it dramatically. That being said every one of those will work with springs to dramatically improve handling. Also buy a nice pair of springs. Sportlines are my favorite. But instead of cutting the stock I'd invest in new ones
