thank you. and no cutting. just sportlines and lcarb's. as well as aftermarket control arms and torque arm. but its just gonna be the sportlines and lcarb's that should put yours like that.

Here's my car before a LOT of work. Roads in my city are complete **SH IT** After ripping off my exhaust, oil pan, transmission and more. Bottoming out on EVERY speed bump.... Nothing worse than driving around having the ladies checkin you out and then have to slow down and scrape the whole bottom end of the car across speed bumps!!
Now car looks like my signature. I'm 6'2 and my car used to sit below my waist line
I'll see if I can find another picture somewhere of it. Member

Here's another picture of my car with a new set of wheels(this is still all prior to stipping it down and rebuilding it) will try to find others prior to putting spacers in the springs to lift car up. Tires stick out past fenders so I cant tuck em or I would leave it lowered

What do the insulators suppose to do? If i remove them will their be any difference in drivability? And will it also change the ride height and is it recommend to remove them?

Re: "OFFICIAL" Lowered 3rd Gen Picture Thread (Post Your Pics Here)
The insulators provide a rubber insulation between the spring and the metal of the car. Removing these WILL lower the car some (perhaps 0.5" at most? the rear might be a bit more as it is thicker). There have been some opinions about this that removing them might cause some squeaking and potential damage to the metal or spring since without these it is "metal on metal" where the spring mets the body. There have been no evidence to prove that it damages the car or even squeaks without these, only opinions as far as I know. I wouldn't remove them as they were there "for a reason" although it could have been to make the ride less harsh, who knows the 'real' reason! I replaced mine with newer ones when I replaced the springs and they were from a 4th gen so they were thicker. The springs I installed were much stiffer than the 25 year old stock ones, so I cannot tell you if it improved ride quality with new ones vs. old ones but my old ones weren't too bad at all and they had around 190,000 miles on them!

Re: "OFFICIAL" Lowered 3rd Gen Picture Thread (Post Your Pics Here)
I put heater hose around it to soften the metal-metal contact, but still the weight of the car is on half the coil of the spring instead of a whole coil.
I still dont care though.

Here's my '84, currently with cut stock springs, unsure how much. It's a little too, um, ****** for my taste. Will be changing that soon, but I'm not exactly sure to what yet. Possibly the Sportlines I have in my basement, possibly cut Moogs, or maybe something more custom...
One thing's for sure: for me it's function over form. It doesn't have to look perfect, but it's gotta handle everything I throw at it.

Cant even see the brakes... Cant imagine it stops all that well either.
Very clean car, though. Way better condition than most on TGO (including mine). And it's a convertible RS, not really meant to be a drag strip trailer queen or a road race car to begin with.

Bro, your car is pretty nice. Still have OEM paint too, are you going to leave the cowl hood black? you should lower it tho.

I got rid of the cowl hood and I am running the factory steel hood again. I have an IROC hood that will go on the car when I finally paint it, and I'm hoping to run the 91-92 blisters.
And believe it or not, it IS lowered. I cut 1/3 of a coil off the front springs and 1/4 of a coil off the rear springs. For some reason it just sits really high. Imagine how high it was BEFORE I cut the springs, as it DID lose about 3/4 inch of ride height!

Here is my 91z with eibach sportlines. I still think it will get lower once they sit in right. I have a fourth gen rearend i wanna get some vette wheels to tuck it in cuz the tires rubb a bit on really hard bumps
but i like how it sits for now

My car is a glorified project car, nowhere near the standards of some of the stuff on these boards, but thank you for the compliments.

im goin to try to word this nicely, but how can you consider a car lowered if it has huge rims that raise it more off the ground than a stock vehicle or of equal height? doesnt it just like equal itself back out so you basically left off right where you started from?

Large wheels dont really raise a car (to a point), large tires do.
